Hernando Bayona Rodríguez
Hernando Bayona Rodríguez used to be a classroom teacher in the private and public sectors for about 12 years. He has been an associated professor and also a researcher at the faculty of economic science of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and at the education faculty of the Universidad de Los Andes. He has also been a visiting fellow in the Education School of Harvard University.
He graduated as a pedagogue from Universidad Antonio Nariño, he is also a mathematician from Universidad Javeriana, has a master's in applied mathematics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a master`s and Ph.D in Economics from Los Universidad de Los Andes. His research are focus on the right to education, analysis of public policies in education, educational leadership and teacher training.
He is currently in his second year of a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania, which he suspended to assume his current position as Deputy Minister.
His goal is to make the school the epicenter of social and cultural transformation.
